Math has a reputation problem. I'm here to fix it.

I'm Carrie The One: math teacher, drag performer, and the person who decided those two things were a perfect match. I teach math on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to students and adults who were told they just weren't "math people." You probably are. Let's find out.

Teaching Math
The right place

Is This You? ✦

Math has a reputation problem, and most of it was built by bad experiences, not by math itself. Wherever you're coming from, you're in the right place.

01

You gave up on math years ago.

Maybe a teacher made you feel stupid. Maybe you failed a test and decided it wasn't for you. That story isn't true, and it's not too late.

02

Someone told you you're not a math person.

They were wrong. That's not a thing. Math isn't a personality trait. It's a skill, and skills can be learned.

03

You get it in class, then forget by Friday.

The way math is usually taught doesn't stick. There's a better way, one you'll actually remember.

04

You're a teacher who wants students to care.

You know the material. You need a way to make it land. That's exactly what this is for.

05

You don't want more homework, you want better questions.

You deserve problems that make you curious, not just busy.

Hi!
I'm Carrie
Meet your teacher

The person behind the problem solver.

I'm a high school math teacher from central Pennsylvania. I've loved math for as long as I can remember, but I always knew it could be more than worksheets and dread.

In 2021, I started making math videos for social media. I wanted something with energy and attitude. Math is a Drag was born.

Making videos as Carrie is the perfect culmination of everything I love: stand-up comedy, community theater, costume design, and teaching.
The drag is the point. If you're paying attention to the spectacle, you're learning the math. That's the whole trick.

If a video unstuck you

Buy Carrie a coffee. ✦

I make these videos because I love it — but if a video unstuck a problem that's been following you around since eighth grade, I'll happily accept a cup of coffee. No subscription. No obligation. Just a tip jar for a teacher who wears heels to work.
